Ivan Gabal (KDU-ČSL) sent a letter to Minister of Foreign Affairs Lubomír Zaorálek on Monday morning. He urges him to "push" the Russian Embassy in the Czech Republic to reduce number of Russian diplomats from the Czech Republic. According to Gabal, Zaoralek should take this step as a response to the russian reduction of the personnel of the US embassy in Russia.
"I want to warn them that the Russian embassy is over-sized. The embassy should be reduced by sixty percent to some 45 diplomats, which would correspond to what we have in Moscow," Gabal told Aktualne.cz. "Our intelligence services point out that the Russians are far from JUST diplomatic and consular activities," he said.

The MP of KDU-ČSL, who specializes in security and defense issues, in the letter to Zaorálek points out that the same argument was used by the Russians themselves. At that time, about sixty percent of US personnel from the embassy in Moscow was expeled.
