The parties are running together because the current political and social situation requires more than ever the extraordinary cooperation of the democratic parties. The coalition emphasises the pro-Western direction of the Czech Republic and the protection of the democratic constitutional system.

"Our republic stands at a crossroads and the SPOLU coalition is here for all those who wish to see it move towards an educated and competitive society in the 21st century, a country that will live in an economically strong country with low and simple taxes and balanced budgets, a country with an unquestionable pro-Western orientation. We do not promise miracles by the next day, and we know that there is a lot of work ahead of us, but I am convinced that the team of the SPOLU coalition has the intelligence and experience to get the job done. And today's signing of the agreement is another important step towards that," said Petr Fiala, chairman of ODS and candidate of the SPOLU coalition for prime minister.

"TOGETHER we offer a positive vision for society. The basic motive of our cooperation is that we can do more. Pessimism, resignation and bitterness are becoming prevalent in society. We need to change this, we offer energy, professionalism and empathy. We have experience and people who will not have to learn to work in government by trial and error. We are a coalition that is here to help working parents, not leave single mothers, the elderly and those who cannot help themselves. Together, we want a healthy environment. The protection of water and soil and clean air is important for us in the countryside and in industry, as well as in the development of rural and urban areas," said Marian Jurečka, chairman of the KDU-ČSL.

"By signing the coalition agreement, I have confirmed the will of the TOP 09 membership base to join the pre-election coalition. I feel really great support from the members for this step and I am convinced that together we will manage to change the government and put our society and economy back on its feet. We are going into the election with the goal of winning and putting together a government of democratic parties. A government that will have the trust of its own citizens, that will focus on solving the country's problems, and that will be able to restore the Czech Republic's good reputation abroad," said TOP 09 chairwoman Markéta Pekarová Adamová.
