He was born in Jihlava and is a graduate of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice and Palacký University in Olomouc. He has devoted most of his professional life to helping people overcome substance abuse and return to normal life. He joined the KDU-ČSL in 2006 and four years later became a council member in Dačice. He was re-elected to this position multiple times and served as deputy mayor from 2010 to 2014. He also served as a regional councilor for the South Bohemian Region and rose to the position of First Vice-Chairman of the KDU-ČSL from 2022 to 2024. During the previous legislative term, he served as Vice-Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies. In 2025, he was re-elected to the Chamber of Deputies. As an experienced politician, he has been dedicated to defense and security issues for many years. This is the most critical issue today. He strives for a strong, secure, and defensible Czech Republic, firmly anchored in the European Union and NATO. That is why he considers increased funding for our security to be the top priority for the next legislative term. From the outset, he has supported Ukraine’s right to defend itself against Russian aggression. In his free time, he enjoys the things that are an integral part of South Bohemia—fishing, walks through beautiful nature, and amateur theater.
