Jana Filipovičová is a long-standing and successful local politician. Since 2014, she has served as mayor of Hrušky, a picturesque village in the Moravian Slovakia region. The village was struck by a tornado in 2021, a disaster she successfully managed to handle in her capacity as mayor of Hrušky.

Since 2022, she has been a member of the KDU-ČSL, a party whose values resonate with her. In the most recent regional elections, she was elected to the South Moravian Regional Council on behalf of this party. In the 2025 parliamentary elections, she won the trust of voters and will represent their voices in the Chamber of Deputies.

She entered local politics to help develop her community. For her first three terms, she focused solely on local politics. But after a tornado struck her community, she reassessed all her plans. She realized that if she wanted to push through the more fundamental changes necessary for the community’s development, she would have to actively engage in regional and national politics.

Vision – Regional Development:
1. Ensuring affordable housing: Increased government support for affordable housing for young families and individuals.
2. Quality of education: Ensuring high-quality preschool and elementary education for all children, with an emphasis on equal opportunities.
3. Accessible healthcare: Improving access to healthcare in our region, including support for mental health and prevention.
4. Family and social policy: A shift in the government’s approach toward greater support for families with children, as well as support for and integration of marginalized groups.

As a successful mayor, she aims to bring her personal experience from the local government sphere and her determination to work toward improving the quality of life in South Moravia to the national political arena.
