Petr Hladík

MP, Committee on the Environment, Committee on European Affairs

Minister of the Environment in Petr Fiala’s government. He was born into a farming family that, under the previous regime, was forced to relocate and had the property they farmed taken away from them. This is one reason why a deep respect for democracy and freedom is deeply rooted in him. He is not afraid of hard work; from a young age, he worked alongside his brother in the woods, in the fields, or tending to animals. He studied project management at the Faculty of Informatics at Masaryk University. He is not afraid of complex challenges and likes to see things through to the end. In the past, he served as chairman of the Young People’s Party, which he co-founded. He has experience in local politics as deputy mayor of the Brno-North district and deputy mayor of Brno. In March 2023, he was appointed Minister of the Environment in Petr Fiala’s government. He ran for the Chamber of Deputies for the first time this year and was elected. His goal is to be the voice of South Moravia in Prague and to help, above all, with the completion of the highways to Vienna and Svitavy, the modernization of railway lines, and addressing the drought. He loves Brno, roots for Kometa, and adores South Moravia and its traditions. He and his wife are raising five children.
