She has been working in the nonprofit sector for more than twenty years and serves as the director of the Svítání school in Pardubice for children with disabilities. Since 2008, she has also been teaching special education at the Faculty of Education at the University of Hradec Králové. She is currently serving her second term in the upper chamber of Parliament. In her role as Vice President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, she draws inspiration from Saint Agnes of Bohemia and views her role as a service to the nation and the greater good.
